Gazette Endorsement: Vote for Ganahl to fix Colorado

The Gazette’s editorial board regularly criticizes Democratic Gov. Jared Polis. We also give him credit when it is due... Despite the governor’s achievements, we are not better off than when Polis took office. Colorado needs change, and Heidi Ganahl is the exact person at the right time to make us the best state in which to live. That state of our state is less than great under the leadership of Polis:

Heidi now we asked Governor polis if he would support this statewide effort, and he refused to even give us an answer. I mean, how do you not answer that question tonight? Does that surprise you?

The winding trail of her campaign from the Eastern Plains to the Western Slope and all points in between has taught Republican Gubernatorial Candidate Heidi Ganahl at least one thing, she said Thursday during a campaign press conference. “I have seen first-hand that our transportation system is broken,” she said. “Our roads are not safe or well maintained and hard-working Coloradans sit on congested highways wasting both their time and hard-earned money.” Ganahl, who serves as a member of the University of Colorado’s Board of Regents, is running in the Nov. 8 general election to unseat Democrat Gov. Jared Polis. On Thursday, she released a plan to invest $10 billion in transportation without a tax increase, with funding derived from $3.5 billion from TABOR, a matching $3.5 billion from the general fund and $3 billion in public-private partnerships.

The Durango Herald (Ganahl Editorial): ‘Will be a governor for all’

I am a mom on a mission to make sure every Colorado child has access to the same American Dream I have lived. Unfortunately, that dream is slipping away, and Colorado is becoming the most dangerous place to be a kid due to crime, education failures and our fentanyl crisis. I grew up in a modest family, raised by a reserve police officer who supported my dreams. Like many of you in Southwest Colorado, I started my own business. With a lot of hard work and dedication, I turned it into the country’s largest pet care franchise, Camp Bow Wow.

Now, Coloradans are supposed to believe that in an election year reversal, Polis is ready to submit the science and save us money. Republican Gubernatorial Nominee Heidi Ganahl is calling on Governor Polis to stop the political pandering and act before the impending EPA deadline.
